Meet Stephanie Popescu

Stephanie Popescu is a public school teacher and a mom who built her life in the communities she’s running to represent.

A graduate of Loyola University, she began her career teaching in underserved schools in Baltimore before moving to Towson to raise her family.

Stephanie has always shown up for her community, whether that’s in the classroom, supporting local causes, or creating spaces that bring people together.

Her life and work have been rooted in service, responsibility, and a commitment to helping others succeed.

Like many Maryland families, Stephanie knows what it means to feel the pressure of rising costs and growing uncertainty.

Early in her career, she worked three jobs to make ends meet while teaching full-time.

That experience shaped her understanding of what so many people are going through today: working hard, doing everything right, and still struggling to keep up.

She’s seen how these challenges affect students, their families, and her community.

That’s why she decided to run, to be a leader who understands these realities and is focused on delivering meaningful solutions.

Stephanie believes it’s time for new leadership, grounded in responsible spending, a strong economy, and common sense.

As a teacher, she’s spent over a decade preparing the next generation for success.

As a mom, she’s deeply invested in the future of our communities, and she understands what it takes to support a family.

Stephanie is running for State Senate to be a practical leader for District 42, from Towson, Lutherville, and Timonium to Cockeysville, Hampstead, White Hall, and beyond, to deliver the kind of leadership that puts people first and gets results.
