Meet Stephanie Popescu

Stephanie Popescu is a public school teacher, mom, and small business owner who has built her life in the same communities she’s now running to represent.

A graduate of Loyola University, she began her career teaching in underserved schools in Baltimore before moving to Towson to raise her family.

Stephanie has always believed in showing up for her community—whether that’s in the classroom, supporting local causes, or creating spaces that bring people together.

Her life and work have been rooted in service, responsibility, and a commitment to helping others succeed.

Like many families across Maryland, Stephanie knows what it means to feel the pressure of rising costs and uncertainty.

Early in her career, she worked three jobs just to make ends meet while teaching full-time.

That experience shaped her understanding of what so many people are going through today - working hard, doing everything right, and still struggling to keep up.

She’s seen how these challenges affect her students, their families, and her own community.

That’s why she decided to run - for leadership that understands these realities and is focused on delivering real solutions.

Stephanie believes it’s time for a new direction - one grounded in responsible spending, a stronger economy, and common sense.

As a teacher, she’s spent over a decade preparing the next generation for success.

As a small business owner, she understands what it takes to support a family and create opportunity for others.

And as a mom, she’s deeply invested in the future of our communities.

Stephanie is running for State Senate to be a voice of reason for District 42, from Towson and Cockeysville to Hampstead, White Hall, and beyond, and to deliver the kind of leadership that puts people first and gets results.
